Join
McKean Hose Company
Volunteers serve in every part of McKean Hose Company: on fire and rescue crews, on the ambulance, with the fire police, and in the business and fundraising work that keeps us running. You don't need any experience to start.

Control traffic and secure emergency scenes for the safety of crews and the public.

Fundraising
Plan and run the fundraising that pays for equipment, training and the station.
Training
As a firefighter, you work toward Pennsylvania's Firefighter I certification, which takes you through hazardous materials response and an interior fire attack. On the ambulance, you can certify as an Emergency Medical Responder or an EMT without any medical background. With the fire police, you earn a separate certification in traffic and scene control, and you never need firefighting training. The Pennsylvania State Fire Academy and county programs run the courses.
